Default Data cabling / Telecoms Engineer qualifications???

So my husband has been doing this for 20 years, now running his own business here in the UK and again doing really well. But has 0 qualifications, now does that mean getting a skilled visa is a no go?????
From what I read he needs a degree?

Not necessarily.
Normally a person would need a Diploma or a Degree in Telecommunications, however Immigration will consider vast years of work experience in lieu of these, but this is accepted at their discretion. There is no hard and fast rule.
He'd obviously have to get a job offer so I'd expect he will have to at least have basic qualifications - i.e. trade level qualifications, first aid etc for an employer to consider him ?

He may also need professional registration for that occupation in NZ so something you need to check as if he does then he'll need to approach the registration body in NZ and they may require him to send in qualification details, work experience etc and they will determine what he needs to do in order to get registration in NZ that will enable him to work.
