criminal record
Hi I have a question,to which Isuppose I already know the answer.
Three years ago, Igot 100 hours community payback, for cultivating cannabis.
I let a supposed friend, use my garage while I was working away from home & it was found to have plants in it.
I unfortunatly I could not prove they didn't belong to me & he denied it was him so they law prosecuted me! a big lesson learnt from that experience.
I am 43 I am a welder by trade & I am currently a health & safety advisor,do I have a chance now or in the future of getting to NZ?

Re: criminal record
Are your skills on the Skills shortage list?
Even if they are, I think you may struggle with that recent conviction. You can do something called a waiver for a crim conviction, but you probably need a sh*t hot lawyer to sort it out. More $$$$$ and no guarantee of success

Re: criminal record
Research the NZIS site carefully, some rules only apply for custodial sentences IIRC, you need to check.

Re: criminal record
It's convictions they're interested in, not the custody.... in fact if I recall properly, it's actually if you have been "charged" :never mind the outcome
They want to see if a person has "reformed" and this might be the problem here, as the charge was not laid very long ago. Plus the particular type of recorded offence will be unpopular with NZIS here
