Default Citizenship query - Good character

So I was speaking to my Dr this morning, (upped my anti depressants ), anyway he, being an expat, was asking about getting Citizenship and during the conversation he mentioned that he had to postpone his as he was refused due to speeding fines, rest of family were approved.
Has anyone else had this problem? or have had speeding fines, applied and had no problems. I have unfortunately have some speeding fines, yes I know me bad, no excuse I was over the limit and paid the fine.
My doctors application was 5 years ago so I am only asking for people who have done it recently to respond please.

We'll be applying for citizenship in a couple of months as we become eligible from mid to late March.
I hope speeding tickets don't cause any issues as I've had a few over the past 5 years. The last couple being this time 2 years ago and the wife got done a year ago....law breakers!
