Default cholesterol

Hey guys i have finally heard something of immigration after 6 months! they wanted me to do fasting blood sugar and fasting blood lipid test,well i did them and it come back sugar was ok,BUT cholesterol was 6.3 the doctor said it wasnt that high but do you think it will be a problem???

Hi there.....uk average is 5.5 for men so would imagine NZIS would want to see a re-test with a lower result, I got mine down from 5.6 to 4.4 by eating porridge for lunch (dont have time for it at breakfast!) but there are several other drinks/foods on the market here that state they help lower cholesterol....'statins' also available from pharmacy here, not sure if same applies for you tho.

Other than that go back to GP and explain importance of reducing level & ask him to prescribe statins to help.

Porridge and any aerobic exercise even walking brings down bad cholesterol levels and raises the good cholesterol.

cheers guys,not sure what will happen next nzis received my test today,any ideas how long they take to make their decision??my visa runs out end of jan so i aint got much time on my hands!!!

Sorry can anyone tell me if you mean Cholesterol level or HDL Cholesterol or HDL/Cholesterol Ratio?
