Can we double claim point from future growth areas and skill shortage?
Me and my soon to be husband have gone through points indicator here https://www.immigration.govt.nz/pointsindicator/
and turned out we've got 145 (he's the main person and I am claiming point for the partner). We are 30 years old.
My boyfriend, South korean, has bachelor of Computer Science from Massey University (Auckland) and now working as Program developer in Thailand. He has 2 years experience in this field until now. He's really good though, he got promoted to be senior programmer and got raised more than double since 1st year of his work. (I guess that doesn't mean anything in this issue)
I am from Thailand and I have Master of Management from Massey as well and now working as an admin in UN. I know that my skill doesn't help in any point but i guess my degree raises up the point at least 10?
My question is, as he work as Program developer, can he claim point from both identified future growth areas? areas of absolute skills shortage? or should it be either one of it?
and also if we really have 145 point without job offer, are we recommended to lodge the application?? my boy friend has tried to look for a job in NZ for many months but he never heard anything back.
Please help us, we really miss NZ life.
Thank you very much in advance.
Best regards,
Bell

my understanding is you can only claim for points for absolute skills shortage without a job offer the other requires a job offer
