Default Can I work in New Zealand if my brother is a NZ Citizen?

Hi there!!!
I am from the UK, and my older brother is also originally from the UK, but is now married to a kiwi and has become a New Zealand citizen.
Is there any way that I can work and live in New Zealand due to me being his direct family?
Thanks Katie

There is no family route into NZ via your brother. Family categories are for partners, children and parents only.

The only way it will help is if you can apply as a Skilled Migrant; you can claim an extra 10 points for a sibling/close relative in NZ.

I see you've spent 2 yrs in Australia on an WHV.

You would also be able to spend 2 years here in NZ on a WHV.

hi there, I was in New Zealand before this and used my WHV and as my brother lives there I had heard that having siblings here may help assist with living and working?

Last year they really closed down the family route and made it much more difficult it does only seem to cover partners, dependent children and parents of NZ Citizens.

Depending on what your profession is, work out the points with regard to the skilled migrant category, as MrsF says, the only option open to you now if you have already been here on a WHV is the Skilled Migrant Category, and as previously said you can claim the extra 10 points for having close family already here.

Good luck.

You can apply for a BUNAC visa, which is a 12 month WHV available to UK citizens up to the age of 35.

http://www.bunac.org/uk/work-abroad/...-zealand/visas

You can apply for one, even if you have previously held a WHV.
