Best way in. (in 4 months)
EOI is ready to go off in the next couple of days, but it appears that a job offer is imminent as long as we can move out to NZ in the next 4 months, any advise on what visa route to take would be appreciated.

Gotta be quick as actually have to do some WORK this week. 
Add the job offer to your EOI before submitting.
Then get an application underway for a temporary work visa. If you can take the temp work visa application into NZA house in London that is helpful as an NZIS officer can check through the application with you.
We did exactly this as husband needed to start his NZ job and our PR application was in the pipeline .
