Auckland living and visas

Hello frnds,

Wanted to apply for new Zealand student visa on my spouse base. she will opt level 8 course for that. we have certain queries in it.

1)If I would be dependent can I easily get job in any field or even if it is part time job like in pubs , bars , workshop..etc

2)what is the minimum hourly rate on which Indian people work over there.

3)what is the monthly cost of living in Auckland for two person.

4)I have heard that Auckland is over crowded with Indians at current scenario & there are no jobs available. is it true??

If any one can reply me soon bcz i am planning for next intake.

Thanks

sorry what visa are would you be coming over on? if you are saying student visa it depends on the length of time and type of student the visa if you can work at all. if you have one that is for 2 years then you can work part time - no more than 20hrs. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...outvisas/#work

minimum wage is not determined by race but by work type. cost of living depends on where, type of accommodation etc.

May I suggest you look at sites like Trademe for rental costs and part time jobs. check out Newworld for a cost analysis of groceries.

OK.

First: I am quite old so no text please. Thank you

Second: I am not sure what you mean.

Does your spouse have an New Zealand job offer?

Does your spouse have enough points under the SMC to put in for a residency visa? That would be around 140 points

The question he's asking is, if his wife gets a visa to study a Post Grad course or Batchelors degree, can he work in NZ.

The answer is that it's not guaranteed that he'll get a visa in the first place - see here. However, assuming they qualify, he'll presumably be granted a work visa.

Not sure whether INZ will apply restrictions to that or not (i.e. match the conditions of the work that is allowed on a student visa). Initially I'd have assumed they would, but the work visa I was granted as a partner of someone with a job offer is actually more flexible than hers, so who knows? Best guess is no restrictions, but seek advice.

ENZ have a cost of living calc here. Not sure how up-to-date it is, but you might find it useful.

Everything is very expensive in NZ. Wages are low and taxes are very high. A lot of housing, rented or private, is sub standard. From what I understand you intend to work if you can find a job while your wife studies...it's going to be hard good luck.
