Hi Khaled,

Are you talking about claiming points on your Expression of Interest?

This is a really helpful guide. I think in order to be able to claim bonus points you will need to be able to a. fit the criteria exactly for applying for that job as laid out in the LTSSL or ANZSCO and b. have worked in a comparable labour market when you got your experience.

Thanks LauraNotes
this is what's written in the link you mentioned
===================
Recognised work experience
You can gain points for work experience if it is relevant to your recognised qualification or relates to
your current or offered skilled employment in New Zealand. You can gain additional bonus points if
you have work experience lawfully gained in New Zealand or that was in an identified future growth
area or area of absolute skills shortage. If you do not have current or offered skilled employment
in New Zealand, or if your work experience is not in an area of absolute skills shortage, your work
experience must have been in a comparable labour market in order for you to claim points. If you
are claiming points for skilled employment in New Zealand you must also qualify for points for
either a recognised qualification or recognised work experience. See ‘Identified future growth area’,
‘Area of absolute skills shortage’, ‘Comparable labour market’.
===============================
Which means that my qualification (Bsc. Commerce) is not suitable to claim experience as Developer Programmer

Dear Seniors,
can anyone review my points here if it's calculated correctly for the EOI
In 2001 I got Bsc in Accounting the I stated working in Software developing starting from 2011
Recently started taking another Bsc. in Information system and will finish during in 2016 and my age will be 40 after finishing it, so I want to revise my points with you assuming I will submit EOI at age 44
1-Age--->20
2-Work Experience---> shall my work experience be counted after my Bsc directly or there is a met date which means I got to work 3 years after the Bsc then start to count my work experience, if not then I will count 4 years after the Bsc. Also, before taking my Bsc in Information Technology I was working for another 4 years in my same current company which may be considered Multi national as it's head-office is in Australia and its branch office which I am working at is in Egypt, so can the 4 years before getting a relevant Bsc be counted to say I have 8 years of experience, if so I will get 25 points
3-Work experience in an area of absolute skills shortage will give me another 15 bonus points
=====================till now I reached 20+25+15=60
4- points for recognized qualification on 43 I am planning to finish a doctorate so shall I claim 60 or Is it a must to get some years of experience after a doctorate, if not then now 60+60 =120
5-Qualification in an area of absolute skill shortage, can I also add here 10, if so then My total now is 130
6-Partner qualification at level 7 with suitable Ielts will give me 20 to sum up for 150

please see this link on what you can and can't claim for, some points can only be claimed if you have a job offer or are already working in NZ.

The Qualifications are dependant on what occupation you are trying to gain a visa on so you would need to check the immigration website for the criteria. I believe work experience would be from when you gained the qualification and then working, but that may not be correct, again check the immigration website.

On the immigration website they are saying the following for work experience:
===========================
"Another way you can get points for your work experience is if the work experience required, or helped you gain, specialist, technical, or management skills and experience. Those skills and experience must be relevant to an occupation that may be considered skilled employment."
see their link
Work experience

Concerning the qualification yes it's directly related to my occupation and the doctorate gives 60 points
