We are teachers too... Had quals approved by NZQA but awaiting Teaching Registration.. thought this was a formality once passed thru' NZQA.. My quals are BSc and PGCE so pretty safe there but partner did a 2yr Bed which like I say was approved as in line with NZ Graduate Diploma of Teaching (Secondary Education). What is your boyfriends qual? Does his experience not count? Am shocked!!

He did a GTP in Physical Education. Neither NZQA or Teachers Council will recognise it. Even though he has QTS, 5 years teaching experience, and a management responsibility!

Arr, getting your problem now. What about Private schools? In UK you don't have to have teaching quals to teach in one, so maybe an option in NZ? Try emailing one or two to see what they say. Apart from that seem to be plenty gyms around, would that suit him?

Oh my god!! That's so silly!! AND Very frustrating! Any possibility of private tutoring? Maybe there are some agencies that specialise in this like there are in UK? Hey, you're in thou!! Probably live a happier life without the stress of teaching....
