Applying for NZ passport

Hi, my husband is british by descent holding a british passport. But he’s born in New Zealand year 1987, now we’re thinking if he can get NZ passport and have dual citizenship, will that be possible? How long is process for this? We live in UAE and will soon have a baby here and would like to apply for NZ passport for him too. Please advise, thank you.

Re: Applying for NZ passport

Providing his parents were not diplomats then your husband is a New Zealand citizen by birth and only need apply for his NZ passport. Your baby will be a NZ citizen by descent and will also be eligible for a NZ passport. More information can be found here.
