Apply for Work Visa & Skilled migrant visa at the same time??

Hi,
I have noticed a quote on another site that says you can speed up the 'getting there' process by making an application for a work visa and a skilled migrant residency visa concurrently.

Is this right and if so, how can we go about it??

Many thanks

you can get a Work visa with the correct job offer and it can be quicker than the skilled route but it will not speed up the skilled migrant visa and it costs.
are you employers demanding you start asap??

Thanks - no we're not that far down the line re start dates.

Just trying to see the best way to time everything as we have a young family and thought that it might be best to get out there - and then apply for the skilled migrant visa.

Re the guidelines of offer - are you referring to accredited employers? If so, he wont be employed by anyone who is accredited - so probably a Work visa wont apply to us anyway then.

if you are not near the start date then the Work visa will probably at this stage be a waste of money. once you have your ITA in at the Immigration Office they have 3mths to give you decision. (if the time lines are still the same). the only thing that will hold this up is problems with medicals, not enough evidence provided so they have to ask for it. They have a way of processing the forms that means they do not go onto the next part until the are fully satisfied with the part they are working on.

My husband got a 12mth work visa on top of our ITA as the Company needed him to start immediately. So there he was working away on 12mth works visa and ITA being processed in the back ground and it came to Case Officer wanting to see the job contract. well it took 3 rewrites by the Company to get the job description right for her to accept it as valid - madness.
