Application Lodged!!

Hi All,
I have today lodged my work visa application... The immigration officer I saw was really nice & helpful.
He answered ALL my questions and informed me that it usually takes 6weeks but as I have a start date as 30th March, they will do their best to rush it through... Wait & see I say!

Next step, preparing my partner's work visa application...

Can't wait for the day both of us will be down under in Auckland drinking a nice cold bottle to champagne!!.... .... .... .... Something to look forward to!

Congrats for that. Fingers crossed for a quick result.

Out of interest , why are you submitting your partners application separate to your own. Your partner should be able to be granted an open work visa on the back of your application & so you would submit at the same time or is there something unusual there.

Re: Application Lodged!!

Hi Bev,
Thanks for the message..
The thing is (or are...):
-We are in a same sex relationship & need to proove we're are in a stable relationship even though we dont currently live together due to work commitments. Am in Birmingham, he is in London. We have previously lived together (4yrs ago). We have loads of evidence, letters from friends, flights, holiday bookings, pictures... But still not as straight forward as for straigh couples who are married!
-My partner has dual citizenship. And he needs police check from his beloved african country where nothing's straight forward. So we're afraid this will delay him.

We would have lodged both application @ same time but as he is missing his Police Check from back home we are waiting to lodge his. Also coz I can not be delayed, due to start on 30th!!

Any advise, idea?
