Any advice?

We have PR and hubby had a job offer but the firm has now gone out of business. It states in the letter from immigration that you have to provide proof of employment (pay slips, etc), whilst working for that firm, for up to 3 months. Where do we stand as that's not possible now? We are frantically looking for a job but no luck yet so can we still go (moving June/July) and search for a job once there or can immigration stop us as there's no job offer now?

Thanks for any advice :)

Did you need the job offer points for PR? If you did then I think your PR status is in jeapordy (sp?) and you should consult NZIS asap. If not then I think you need to find another job offer and apply for a variation of the conditions to the new employer.

Re: Any advice?

My OH had his job offer withdrawn - he went out there anyway and managed to secure another job. He then contacted NZIS to advise change of employer. After 3 months, he had to submit pay slips etc. They also wanted confirmation that his employment was long term. His boss wrote a letter stating my OH's position in the firm etc. The condition has now been removed from his visa. I don't know if it made any difference, but he is a carpenter and is employed in ChCh!

Best of luck - I think you need to be fairly upfront with them as you don't want to jeopordize your visa and it's a lot of money to lose!
