Another medical waiver question (sorry!)

Sorry for another question on this - I haven't found the answers I'm looking for yet (maybe there are no answers!)

I've been offered a permanent job as a consultant in a fairly small and specialised hospital medical specialty in New Zealand from March. My wife has a BMI of well over 40-ish but I only realised the other day this might be an issue. We're using an immigration adviser who said a medical waiver could be applied for if necessary - does anyone have any idea how likely it is we'll get one given my occupation? (We're finalising documentation to submit the ITA form) And, should we expect the timescale to stretch beyond March now?

Otherwise pretty fit and well, 2 healthy kids.

Any ideas people have would be very welcome!

Oh, and my occupation is on the LTSSL, in case that's relevant.

sorry can't answer your question but you could call NZ house, 01245 454448 this number takes you through a virtual route so you don't actually pay the £1 a minute charge, when they are open and ask. You will all need medicals and if the weight is a problem any CO will refer it to their inhouse medical team to make a decision or further referrals

Welcome to our wee NZ forum GordonL.

Don't be sorry for asking. That's what the place is for. :)

Lovely to see you Celticknight.

I believe Celticknight had to do some fair old work because of the same/similar issues.

Can anyone tell me which tests they need? I think it is better that I get myself tested on these from a regular doctor and if they are within what is expected then only I should submit them. Otherwise I would work on curing them first.
