Advice on getting a job while in UK and how it goes after they please.

Hi, total newbie to site here though been lurking. myself my husband and 4 kids have been dreaming of nz for 4 years. We are hoping to move to Wellington as we loved in when there for a reccy. We have decided its now or never and he is applying for jobs in risk management in finacial services. However I'm not even sure a nz employer will consider him if still in uk . A few questions whizzing round my head that I hope some of you guys can help me with.
Will a nz finacial employer consider someone in uk for interview ( obviously with relevant skills experience etc..) ?
If he got a job what happens next with visas etc?
Would we have to pay for everyone visas etc or could we pay for me and kids once he started earning ?

Thanks and any other relevant info/advice / experience would be wonderful.

Hello
There have been a few job hunting threads on here recently, if you do a search then you'll find some suggestions.
Some employers will offer jobs from overseas and others won't, it often depends on the job. He could start applying and see where things go, I can't help with his specific area of work.

I am assuming you are contemplating a permanent move, in which case you would want residency. This is a points based application under the Skilled Migrant Category. See here:http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...nt/default.htm
That is the government website with all the visa information.
If you were able to apply under the SMC then all the family goes on the same application [known as EOI] You would all apply together rather than split the visa costs.
Other visas eg work and WTR require a job offer first

Hi there. look at my blog to see how it worked for me. Basically, I applied for jobs first, got one (interview via conference call) then applied for visas asfter that. With the job offer, my EOI was selected very quickly.

I have been honest and straight with them from the start, which they seemed to like a lot.
