22nd April 2009----selected club

Is there anybody else out there??

Is it just me or are you also bursting at the seams with excitement.

Hoping to get the house sold ASAP and go into rented, I've just totally lost all heart in my house and have decided to move either way.

Hoping to go to Whangarei (still having problems pronouncing it but will have to practice more)

OH hasn't got a job offer because he wants to do something completely different when/if we get there.

We were hoping to set up some sort of Homestay for migrating families. so they have a permanent address to go to and ship things, pets can stay.
There are probably loads of them about but i can't find any for the life of me. It would be great to go to one for people in our situation don't you think.
They seem to be connected to the big relocation specialists - well what if you can't afford the fees the you end up in limbo really.

Hi Sukilou,

We have been bursting at the seems at the prospect of emigrating too!

Like you we need to sell the house first before we can put in an application and we are also hoping to go to Whangarei. I was pronouncing it as it is spelt until I was told by a kiwi that it is pronounced as fungaray

We also need a job offer but not looking for anything until we have sold the house.

You have a good idea about setting up accommodation for migrants. Maybe we could be your first homestay guests if you get there before us:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Good luck with your dreams and hope they turn into reality for you.

Regards

Lynda

Thats a great idea - good luck!
We have been waiting for nearly 3 months now so hoping things will start moving soon. OH is painting our whole house in preperation for renting it out when we eventually get to NZ!

Good Luck

Hi, as I'm sure you're aware from the other thread, we also got selected on the 22nd! Yay!

I do expect there'll be problems with our application though. I am a pharmacist (on LTSS) and to gain PR I know I should have full registration with the NZ Pharmacy Council. However, they have told me they will not register me until I have a visa - so a bit of a Catch-22.

I just hope that we'll be able to get a WTR through the SMC - so fingers crossed!!

We still haven't really decided where we want to move to - I think at the moment we're looking at Christchurch or Wellington, but TBH it's gonna be wherever I can get a job!

We'ew also looking to rent our flat out when we move - we live in London very near a tube station so this shouldn't be too much of a problem. Just don't fancy trying to sell in the current climate.

Anyways, that's enough waffling from me - it would be good to hear from others who were selected on the 22nd
