2 YEARS SO FAR
Hi I lived in NZ for 2 years and have IRRV, do i need 3 more years or 5 before applying for citizenship?

Do you mean a Permanent Resident Visa? The IRRVs have been withdrawn though if you held one before the PRV was introduced then you are 'deemed' to hold a PRV. No need to change it until your passport expires.
You have to have been a resident for 5 years to apply for citizenship so that would be 3 more years if your first travel conditions have just expired.

Sorry, just seen the part where you say you're actually living in the UK.
To apply for citizenship you have to have resided in NZ for the last 5 years and spent a certain amount of time in each year in the country. If you have an IRRV then I assume you left prior to Nov 2010 in which case the 5 years will start again.
It's not 5 years in total, it's 5 years continuously
