Yet another expired PR card question..
Prompted by FL in the current PR card thread…. If we do not receive our new PR cards before the old ones expire, can we enter Canada as USCs? As USCs, we do not need a visa/citizenship/electronic authorization to enter, but I am not sure about PRs. When we receive the new cards we could then jump the border and re-enter as PRs.

Re: Yet another expired PR card question..
Well technically you could but you would be lying to the officer when asked where do you live? The problem arises if you get sent to secondary examination and data base checks reveal you are a PR. So what I hear everybody lies to an officer but in this scenario if the officer was to report you formally and found inadmissible for misrepresentation then you would be not able to enter Canada for 12 months.
So ask yourself is it worth it? Also bear in mind if treated as a US citizen you have no right of entry so could be turned back. Lying to an officer usually never ends well.
Look I know IRCC can be sometimes slow but you have the ultimate responsibility in checking for these things before making plans. Far too many times we have seen posters do things and then ask questions and then don't like the answers given.
The choices are yours in the end and if looking for some type of sympathy from me then I can tell you where to find it usually on page 743 of a dictionary.

It seems we could enter Canada by road from the US with expired PR cards.

We did, bit so far have not received it. The reason I ask is that we may travel south to get away from the snow. Anyway, it’s good to know that we can cross the land border if it is not received.
