Default Would a uk IVA affect application for permanent residency?

Does anyone know if a UK IVA would affect visa application?

I don't have one but a nurse that works with my wife does and wants to apply for a permanent residence visa.

I am aware they perform a security check but am not sure if this includes a bankruptcy and insolvency check? Thank you

Because there are numerous PR streams each one differs.
This link shows funds required under skilled workers
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigra...lled/funds.asp

You must show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family members after you arrive in Canada. The money must be available to support the costs of living for yourself and your family. The amount is an estimate of what you would require to support yourself and your family without employment or other income. You cannot borrow this money from another person.

Thank you. The PR route would be the same as my wife's I assume which is as a skilled worker.

I am aware of the funds required but am wandering if Canadian immigration perform a uk credit check on applicants. Thank you

Bankruptcy or debt does not affect your immigration eligibility so there would be no reason to perform credit checks.

It shouldn't really cos we decided to buy a house here in Canada and they had to follow up our credit in England which we had paid off but still had defaults on....Your friend can still come to Canada, get a secure credit card and build up their credit here in Canada for a year..We did that and we bought our own home
