Working remotely in Canada for 10 days
Hi,
My partner is Canadian, I am US and British citizen. I work for a UK based firm. My partners family member got cancer and we want to go back to Canada for a few weeks to support. My firm allows remote working from abroad for a short period but they need proof that I am eligible to work in Canada.
Is there any ways to get around or prove this requirement?
Thanks

Re: Working remotely in Canada for 10 days
Does your company have offices in Canada i.e. will you be taking a job that a Canadian could do? If not, then you can point them to this page which says you can work - https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration...t-is-work.html
Among the things that aren't considered work (and therefore don't require a work permit) is "long distance (by telephone or Internet) work done by a temporary resident whose employer is outside Canada and who is remunerated from outside Canada;"
HTH.
