Working Holiday Visa
I've just been told by a Canadian recruiter that I can get a Working Holiday Visa since I'm from the UK.
I have been told that they are really easy to get and let you take any job for up to one year.
Does anybody have any experience of these types of visas? How to get them, and how long it takes???
Cheers
Phil

Hi there,
Sorry that I can't help with your question but we would be VERY interested to hear the outcome to your question.
My wife & I (I'm a Scot & she's SA) are currently in South Africa and want to get out. My brother is in Canada & has offerd to sponsor us but it seems he can only sponsor a brother / sister if under 18 y o.
I hold a Brit passport & it would be a nice "option" to get a year's work permit & go there & check the place out for the year to be sure it's where we want to be.
Please if you wouldn't mind letting us know the outcome on your question.
My email is:

Thanks & all the very best with your travels. Hope you get to Canada as from what we have seen & heard it is a great place.
Regards
Campbell.

Hey Phil, you sound like you may be irish.
If so, have a read below of this....
God Bless Brian Cowen, it's the only decent thing he's done :-) !
If anyone hears anything about restrictions or limit on numbers
I'd appreciate if you could mail me @

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Brian Cowen, T.D., and His Excellency Mark J Moher, Ambassador of Canada to Ireland, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Governments of Ireland and Canada which will introduce a Working Holiday Programme between the two countries.
For the initial period of the Programme, it has been agreed that up to 100 people from each country will participate. This Working Holiday Programme will enable people between the ages of 18 and 35 from both countries to visit the other country for an extended period, primarily to holiday, but also to engage in employment as an incidental aspect of the holiday, in order to supplement their travel.
Similar programmes are already in existence with Australia and New Zealand, giving people the opportunity to appreciate the culture and way of life of another country and to promote mutual understanding between the two countries.
The Memorandum of Understanding will take effect from today and Irish people wishing to participate in the Programme should contact the Canadian High Commission in London for information and application details.

You have been misinformed.
in order to get one of these working holiday visas you need to be a full time student.
