Default Working Children.

We, as a family, came to Canada at the end of August last year. Myself, my wife and our three children, aged 9, 11 and 19. It was a transfer through the company I work for. I am initially on a three year work permit with the apllication for PR pending. The issue I have is with regard to my eldest son. He is a mechanic and has completed the majority of his studies whilst in the UK on a day release basis whilst working. All he wants to do is work over in Canada and stay here. He has found a job with a small garage who want him to not only to work there but to also take over the place in years to come. Unfortunately he cannot obtain a work visa. We have tried to get a job authorisation but this was refused, due to the skills he has being available in the open market place. Yet the garage has been recruiting for a considerable amount of time without success. We are now exploring work/study avenues but are hitting road blocks at every turn. Any idea's / suggestions on where we can go from here. The garage has said they will do what ever they can to get him his necessary visa's.

Thanks

If HRDSC has refused to certify the job offer, then thats pretty much it. Your son will probably have to wait until you receive your PR to start work. I note from your message that he has not completed all of his studies to be a mechanic. I would suggest that he enrole in a pre-apprentice mechanics course, which will give the basics in Canadian standards and a leg up in his job search when you receive your PR.
