Hi:

Generally the first step in the process is to obtain a job offer from a Canadian
Employer. The employer is responsible for obtaining a "job validation". In order to
qualify for a "job validation"the employer must make a case that there are no
qualified Canadians available to fill the position and that the job offer is within
Canadian labor standards.

Once a "job validation" has been received, you must appear at the nearest Canadian
Consulate, Embassy or High Commission Office, and apply for an employment
authorization.

Keep in mind that there are exceptions from having to go through the job
validation process.

Work permits can be obtained through the Act/Regulations, treaties such = as GATT or
in the end with a validated offer of employment.

You could perhaps study. =20

You could just visit for six months but would not be allowed to work or = study.

More details and consultation could possibly reveal some alternatives.
