Work permit while waiting for PR Experts please help
Can the experts please tell me if there are any pitfalls in applying for a work permit to nurse while I wait for PR. I have passed the Canadian RN Exam

Hi
Nope, as long as your employer can get HRSDC approval and that you know that you have to apply outside Canada.

Will we be charged any tax on the household goods we take with us if we go on a work permit?

As for pitfalls I read somewhere that you have to watch out that you convince the officer that as far a the temp status you will leave the country after expiry of your work permit and that you would only change your mind if PR comes through.
It is a weird twist of mindset, but I read that some officers may interpret the Pending PR application as an intent to settle permanently on the temp. and therefore deny the temp. I guess you just have to watch out with your wording.
