Work Permit Application
 

Hi all know this has been done to death but have searched threads and can not find the answer. Can I take my work permit application to CIC London and get same day approval and pick up permit there and then or do I have to mail it and wait until they send letter of approval. I have letter of employment and HRDC Number etc required. :) Job starts 3rd July so I really need to get things going, and do not want to books flights etc until I have the permit. Dont think it will be a problem but have been reading threads about PR's being denied and am getting worried as job offer also states that they will help with PNP after a year. Am skilled worker in oil and gas industry and going to Alberta. Any help gratefully accepted.
Keep up the good work on this forum with out it I would be lost.

we're getting our visa when we land in galary in 2 weeks time - we didnt send to london becuase they can take 2 days to 6 weeks to issue the visa...everyone i know whos got a hrdsc wernt the visa at airport route anmd made it in fine...

Thanks Subby 1974 good luck on your move, would you pm after your arrival and let me now how it went, we are going in to calagry as well, who are you flying with. When you say getting visa when landing do you mean you are taking the application forms etc and giving them to immigration at the airport or do you send form etc to london first then pick up visa at airport sorry if i sound a bit daft but i do get confused easily. As usual you are a mind field of information.

good to think some of my information might blow you up...

i have my hrsdc confirmations, my contract, letter fo support from my employer, my cv and relevant documents and $450 and will be arriving on wednesday for them tog ive me a work permit... everyone i personally know who works for the same company did the same thing :)

I will though post if possible but if you pm me you email addy i'll email you directly as it might be a while before i get my poc hooked up to the net
