Default work permit

hi

In my understanding, I have to wait at least a month to get PR card in Canada after landing. In this case, it is very long time for me without doing nothing, just wait. Is there any way I can start working right after landing?

Any response greatly appreciated

All you need to do is to apply for your SIN and you may start working - show employer your COPR document and tell that you'll show the rest as soon as you get it. You are allowed to start work without any work permits the day you landed as a PR.

Mr. Miller,
I am based in US and whenever i receive my PR, i would like to find some Canada based company in US OR my employer will post me to their canada based office. My goal is to secure a job there before i land. Provided that everything goes smooth, would that be possible for HRDC to issue some temp SIN to me or atleast some temp confirmation or something to allow my employer to put me on Payroll.

When you apply in person for SIN you may ask for the number (sometimes you may need to call next day) and you should have it. You don't need SIN card, all you need is the SIN (the number) for employer to put you in the payroll system.
