Default Work Experience Requirements

Thank god the pass mark has been changed to 67!

Well, I`ve got a couple of questions about Work Experience
Requirements.

I am a civil engineer. My post secondary education took 5 semesters
which is 2,5 years of study. In section EDUCATION, do I qualify for 22
points ( .........a three-year diploma, trade certificate or
apprenticeship and at least 15 years of full-time or full-time
equivalent study) or just 20 points (.......... a university degree
of two years or more at the bachelor's level and at least 14 years of
full-time or full-time equivalent study) ?

I have about 1,5 year of experience in civil engineering, nearly 2
years as a cook (do not have formal education in the area though)
and also 1 year as a graphic designer (no education as well) . The
question is, do I qualify for 4+ years of experience which gives me
21 points although I do not have a formal education in last two
occupations mentioned above?

Any information would be much appreciated!

Peter

Dear Peter:
What does your Degree Certificate state, you have a Bachelor's Degree,
Diploma, or Associate Degree, etc.
It depends on what your certificate state, what every your degree
certificates state, match it to the level at the website,
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/qual-5.html or for future details
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/qual-5-1.html ... it's very hard for
people to guide you without looking at the degrees, mark sheets, etc.

If you apply as a Civil Engineer, it is 1.5 year.
If you apply as a Cook (which you have May not have any education
qualification), it would be 2.
Can NOT combine distinct job experiences as per
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/qual-5-2.html
