Default Work Experience Question for Skilled Worker

Hi Guys

This is a great forum, I am glad I found it.

I am in the process of looking at applying for skilled worker status. I have 4.5 years work Experience but it is in 3 different NOC Classifications (i.e. 3 different professions). Does this still qualify as 4.5 years work experience or does the experience have to be in one profession?

Also do I have to have been in each profession at least a year as I was only in one for 9 months?

Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

James

It doesn't matter how many skilled occupations you have experience in, as long as all are listed in NOC matrix as Skills Level 0, A or B, experience gained within past 10 years and you can conclusively document it all.

Also remember that any psrt time experience must be converted to full time equivalent using 37.5 hrs/week (or 1,950 hrs/year) as full time.

And to meet the definition of skilled worker you must have at least 12 months of paid, full time (or full time equivalent) and continuous work experience (within past 10 years) in one or more skilled occupations.

So basically if I have 15 months with one employer. 13 months with another. 9 months with 2 and 6 months with 1 employer I am good to go as I qualify for the full 21 points!?

If so you have just made me a very happy man!

All of my 3 occupations do appear in the NOC Listings and can be documented by payslip copies and contracts plus descriptions.

What would a standard canadian immigration lawyer that is recognised charge?
