Default Work experience, Please Help!

Hi,

I have 2.5 years full time software engineer experience and totally
75 score if English is counted with the full score.

My question is:

I have another 2.5 years part time 'Graduate Research Assistant'(4122)
experiences which could make my work experience more than 3 years. But
I lost the contact with my professor (He has retired). I can only
provide my I-20 showing I am a RA.

Does it help if I include my RA experience which add 2 more points and
make it safer, or it will cause trouble because I can't get any
reference letter to verify this work.

THANKS A LOT.

In you firt post you stated you had 1.5 years partime and now it is
2.5. Is this inflation.

Regardless of the number of years you will have to have a document
stating what your duties and responsibilities were in order to receive
any credit.

I have been RA for totally 2.5 years, but only the last 1.5 year is
related to my current work or the category I applied( software
programming). The first year is related to pure biology. Now I think
probably it's also ok to include all of them no matter it's related or
not.

Hi,
From what I understand a RA/TA typically involves only 20 hours of
work per week which makes it a part time employment. So in that case
your 2.5 years RA would turn to be 1.25 years of full time experience.
But you will still need some documentation to show that you did work
for 2.5 years as a RA. Thats really important for you to show. If I
were you, I would try my hardest to try and show that RA experince. I
have heard of examples where people end up getting couple of points
lower than what they had estimated. Every point counts!
