Default Work Experience

In the portion of the application form requiring work experience, do we put the work we actually do in our home country even if we can't do it in Canada ? Specifically, I am a lawyer in my home country but I can't be one (at least not yet) in Canada. Do I indicate lawyer and consequently indicate the NOC for lawyers ?
