If selection decision is made (interview waived or successfully passed) before end of
2002 then your case will be assessed under old rules, otherwise you'll be subject to
new selection criteria with slightly lower pass mark. Of course if transition rules
won't be changed in the final version of regulations.

Thanks for the reply Mr. Miller. However another problem I am facing is that my past job experience does not match the job title I applied for under the skilled worker category. Can I send them a letter requesting them to consider me under another job title and would that start my wait for the assessment again!! Thanks.

Your application will be assessed based on what was in it at the time of submission,
so you may be simply refused at the initial assessment stage if you don't have
required work experience in claimed occupation. This is one of the most common
reasons for refusals. Processing officer may (if s/he has time for it and is willing
to) but is not required to assess you under different occupation, but don't hold your
breath. Sending a letter with the change of occupation may not even be considered at
this time, but it won't hurt to try. I hate to bring bad news but lately we see a lot
of refusals from Buffalo in cases like yours - there is simply too many applications
out there and officers don't have time and/or willingness to go the extra mile they
are not even required to go...

It will go to your file, but it may not change anything as applications are assessed
as originally filed, unless processing officer wants to go the extra
mile...
