Default WHERE TO START WITH PAPERWORK ETC

Hi All,
Were looking to move to Canada, and have recently been to a seminar which was very useful although seems very expensive, (you pay for what you get I suppose) After reading through various forums, the majority of people are saying complete the paperwork yourself and save the money for the big move. Can any one advise where you actually start and the best route to take. If anyone can advise a good company to help then we would be very grateful and can look into them, its hard to know if companies are too expensive and just want your cash and others seem to cheap????
Any help or advice would be great, cheers in advance all Gardenshed

Hope to hear from you all soon

Where to start will depend on the visa route you intend to go down - which out of the 50 or so visas are you planning on? Most application forms are on the CIC website, so that would be your first port of call.

But if you can be a bit more specific, then hopefully we can point you in the right direction.

Good luck.

Hi, we are looking to relocate as a family unit, my husband hoping to find work as he's a carpenter/roofer/building trade ( so maybe the working visa) we also have family who live in Toronto, hope this helps

Not really! Not sure what you mean by 'working visa', do you mean the Skilled Worker (which he's not likely to be eligible for, as his job probably won't be on 'the list' of eligible occupations), or the Temporary Work Permit, or......???

It sounds like you're not sure on the visa side of things, so that really needs to be your first step. Have a look at the Wiki to figure out which visa route you'd be going down, this page is a good place to start - http://britishexpats.com/wiki/Quick_...an_Immigration Do also look at the CIC website.

Once you've got the name of the visa you think your husband would be eligible for, then you can shout with questions about it and we can direct you to the relevant paperwork.

HTH, good luck.

In addition to the routes to PR mentioned on the Wiki, the OP husband may be eligible for the new federal skilled trades route as a carpenter maybe?
