Thats true.
But at what stage during immigration or work permit process would one need to get a notorized document? None of my documents were needed to notorised, just certified.

Most Brits don't need to get any docs notarized, it's usually only needed if official documents (such as police certs or education certs) aren't in English or French.

As part of the Spousal Sponsorship for PR as I am in a common law relationship I had to get at least 2 statutory declarations from family/friends that were notarized.

I also submitted a statutory declaration of common-law union when applying to extend my visitor status.
