Default What is the value of skills certifications in applying to emigrate?

Dear friends,

I am in the IT field, and I am in the process of preparing
an application to migrate to Canada. Naturally, I want to
improve the chances of being approved.

At first, I was thinking of acquiring industry skills certification
like Microsoft's MCSE as a way to both improve my 'value' and
employability as well.

But after taking the Canadian migration self-assesments,
I noticed that there seems to be no additional points for
any such certifications.

In other words:

Me with 10 years work experience has the same points as
me with 10 years work experience and 6 Microsoft certifications.

Question: Should I bother acquiring such certifications for
the purpose of improving my chances of being approved?

Such certifications have no value when it comes to immigration, sorry.

Your chances of landing a job with an MCSE are slim and none.

That's because these certifications are worthless.

The only education that matters is a University level degree. Or a
skilled trade which is a very hot career choice nowadays.

IT certications are completely and utterly worthless.
