Default What is updated FBI

Hi All Experts ,
I received a mail from Canadian Consulate genearl , Buffalo. This letter says the following

"we are pleased to inform you that we have completed the initial assesment of your application and expect to finalize your application in the regional program center without a personal interview"

In the document list they have asked the following

"Orignal letters of "no records" or certificates of good conduct for the following family mebers from following countries

Updated FBI

What does this mean ? I have submitted the FBI record at the time when I have applied ? What is updated FBI means ? Anyone else has same kind of experience ..

Thanks
Biran

From my personal Experience:
They just need a new FBI certificate, they asked me for the same thing and I mailed them a new FBI certificate. My guess is that it is a new thing after 9/11. I did get my visa this week, so good luck.

it's because police certificates/proof of no criminal record or whatever you
like to call them usually have a validity of 6 months. So if you sent it in
over 6 months ago then they come to process your application then often the
police certificate has expired so they need a new one to make sure you
havent commited any crimes in the time since it expired if you see what i
mean.

wessam ,
Did you send the medical and updated FBI doc together. In my case they are asking me not to do the medical until 6 months. I think i need to give them the updated FBI first and wait till they give me a green signal to do my medical ? Is this the way to go ???

I will appreiciate your response

Also Updated FBI is same thing that I got before , I mean I will send the Finger print again to FBI requesting the report and thats the Updated FBI . An I right ???

If you send your FBI check card now, you may again be required to send an updated one after 6 months (remember they are valid for 6 months only). Or you may just send one along with your medicals after 6 months.
If I were you however, I would send an updated FBI card now and another one with meds after 6 months.
Its your take.

And yes, you are right. You have to get a fresh FBI card fingerprinted at a local police station and send it to FBI for them to conduct a check and return it to you stamped. This would constitute an updated FBI check. Same as you did the first time.

Hi Wesam,
congrats!
What time in June did you receive the waiver, early June or late June?
By the way, at what point did you pay the RPR fee?
Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
