what happens if i get denied pr? please help

Hi everyone, this is my first post here, and i am wondering if anyone could maybe help me with some information....

I am from the UK and I am married to a Canadian citizen.
Our application for PR was sent in a couple of months ago, and according to the website, it is now processing. I recieved an extension of stay, which is good until next May.
Now, I am a major worrier, and I (like many others) am terrified I will get denied PR and have to leave Canada.I have no criminal record, or illness. I (as far as I know) sent all the information needed to the processing center, and included details on how we met, etc, including LOTS of pics of the wedding, reception, family pics etc...
I have a child in the UK from a previous relationship. All child support is up to date, and the child support agency even sent me a letter saying this, and also I no longer need to pay as I am not in the country, and I am not working (when i am working, i am planning to send money on a regular basis anyway).
Can I be denied as I have a child back in the UK?

If I do get denied, are there other avenues I can look into so I can remain here? I couldnt bear to be seperated from my wife.

Thank you all in advance, and I do hope someone can give me some idea of what to expect

You worry too much... :-) - relax and enjoy your life in Canada. You will not
be refused just because you have a child in UK, don't be silly...
