Default Went to CHC London Today!!

Hi everyone
I went to CHC today and waited ages to be let in to the Embassy. They
only allow in 8-10 people every 25-30 minutes
Well, this is what i found out!
Firstly they took my AOR which i received 7 months ago and looked up
progression. Surprise surprise, not yet touched!!
They said that processing times from AOR are now 6 -9 months. (or
longer i suspect)
The good news is that they process strictly in order of AOR NOT from
hand -in of application and said that the newly reduced points will
not have any knock on effect for those already in the system. They
have not yet had a wave of applications but are expecting it soon. I
got the impression that then processing times wil increase.
Once they have agreed to send you for medicals then they process
really really quickly as they want you out of the system. So,
although i was disapointed that they had not even looked at my
application yet, at least i know not to look at the letterbox closely
until Christmas! I thought it was a bonus that they actually checked
progress on my personal file, i just thought that it would be
answering general questions. So now you know!! It was worth the 3
hours in total waiting to find that out!
Any thoughts?

It is good to see that CHC London has a good attitude to their clients given
the lengthy processing times that thye experience. However, You have give
usefull information and it is to be hoped that others reading your note will
not rush on down to the CHC only to hear the same thing.

Can you tell us the exact date you applied and got receipt of AOR?

That will give me some idea about when I can expect a response (10 months
and counting....yawn)

Thanks for you experience at the London CHC.
Do you think London CHC would stamp the visa in the passport if one shows up at the London CHC office?
Any day I am expecting my passport request letter and I don’t want to courier my passport.
Thanks.

I received my passport request recently from CHC London and here is what
is said about receiving passports in person:

"In Person

to use an envelope large enough and strong enough to transport your
passport(s). You must enclose an envelope with your address and
telephone contact numbers written on the outside; the envelope must be
large enough, at least 23cm by 33cm, and strong enough for the return of
your passport(s) and visa(s). Submit this on any THURSDAY (except Public
holidays), between 2.00 and 3.30p.m. We will issue you with a receipt,
acknowledging that we have received a package from you. You may collect
your passport(s) ** TEN working days (the second THURSDAY) following the
submission of the passport(s), photos and completed CHECKLIST,** (except
Public holidays), bteween 2.00 and 3.30p.m. You must ensure that you, or
someone nominated by you, bring your receipt to enable us to release
your passports."

Thanks for your input Steve.
It’s been three months since I did my medicals. I am expecting my request for passport. Due to the inefficiency of the postal system out here I cannot wait for my ‘request for passport letter’. I know it’s in the mail. I am going to send in my passport for visa stamping anyway.
Steve can you please elaborate more on the checklist and photograph that’s required when sending one’s passport to the London CHC?
Thanks.
