Wasn't expecting Govt. to work this fast!
I applied for Saskatchewan provincial approval through their Immigrant nominee program (SINP) at the start of this month.
May 20, got an e-mail saying they'd received my application on May 12. the letter also said:
"The SINP has received an unprecedented number of applications in 2009 and 2010. We are taking steps to reduce our application processing times. In order to allow us to process applications as quickly as possible, we ask that you not contact the SINP regarding the status of your application until you receive notice of our assessment. When your file is assessed, we will contact you if any further information is required."
Based on this, and my previous experience with various Federal and Provincial Govts., I settled in for the long wait.
But, lo and behold!, today (May 31) I received notification of SINP approval, instructions for extending my work permit, and corrections needed on my federal "application for permanent residency" forms. All this took 13 working days which must be a record for a Govt. dept.
Now I'll have to get my arse in gear with the federal application stuff.
