Default want to apply for canadian immigration

Hi,
I am working on H1B in usa for over two years. My H1B visa (needed for traveling only) was expired last year. I applied for visa revalidation but i was advised to apply it from my home country although it was expired at that time but they put a canceled stamp on the visa on my passport. Since my H1B workpermit is valid till the end of 2006, my question is that in this situation (with expired visa) can i apply for canadian immigration as a skilled worker.

thanks.

US Entry visa has nothing to do with Canadian Immigration process. Your status in US is perfectly legal. You have nothing to worry about. I was in exactly same situation. If you qualify, dont waste the time and just apply for immigration.
Also , remember once you get immigration you can visit Canada and come back to US on your expired H1 visa (provided that you have valid I-94 and I-797).
