I am a permanent resident of the US and a holder of passport from India and so is my
spouse (Indian Passport, US PR). I will be on a business trip to Canada for a month. In that time my spouse would be visiting me in Canada for 3-5 days. I know that a US PR does not require a visa to enter Canada. However I have the follwing questions : 1. When my spouse enters Canada does an invitation letter from me necessary ? 2. Does my spouse saying that the reason of her visit is to visit her husband raise any red-flags with the Canada Immigration ? 3. She works in the US, So I am asking her to carry her offer letter and her latest paystub. Is there any other documents other than her passport and GC required or advisable ? Thanks VK |

I'll second that. The Canadian authorities are the ones to decide, not the Indian
(they have no say in this matter - they represent Indian interests in the US). Most major cities have a Canadian consulate - see your Yellow Pages, so get in touch with them. There is also a web site: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/index.html - have fun browsing it, lots of information. > [usenetquote2]> >> 1. Your question is complex, and I don't recommend that you take the advice of people who happen to post to rec.travel newsgroups. Call the Canadian Consulate and ask them for their advice. Or go in and visit them. Michael To reply by email, please eliminate "" from my address. Personal messages only, please! |
