Visitor visa extension and immigration application
Hi, I am a Canadian Citizen and would like to sponsor my parents to immigrate to Canada. They are in Canada now on visitor visa. and I also want to extend their visitor visa, my question is "will their immigration application affect their visitor visa extension"?

Shouldn't as I assume that they will return to their home country for the processing of the visa. It also depends on how long they have been in Canada on their present visa.

Their immigration application will always have some impact, although not a substantial one when it comes to the extension of stay.
But if you hope to keep extending their stay for the duration of the sponsorship process (3 to 5+ years) then you may forget about it.
