Default Visiting without landing

New to this forum,so apologies if this question has been asked before.(I did a
search but no definite answers)
We have just recieved our passports with PR visas attached and plan to land in August or September. However we have a holiday booked to Canada at the end of May,we do not wish to be `Landed` at this time for several reasons (no Canadian address to send PR card to etc). What is the proceedure when we arrive on holiday? Do we just ask to be treated as visitors,or will they insist on Landing us? Do we need to show our COPR forms? Help anybody.

P.S we are travelling from the UK

Just land, you do not have to get your PR card etc, you can do that when you go back permenantly. I would definatley get the Landing done. Lots of other people do this (I have seen it on this forum), some literally fly to Canada, land, and return to their home countries the next day to sort out house sales etc etc etc. You will have no worries with expiries and things as August is only 4 months away

Good luck, jameso (very jelous, land now, wish I could)

I thought if you try to return to Canada as a Permanent Resident you have to have a PR card ,if you arrive by Commercial carrier ie,plane, boat, bus etc?

Just land. Why risk anything happening between now and the fall? Get the PR cards sent to a friend as they take three weeks to arrive.
