Default Visiting Canada while PR is being processed

Hi folks,
I was planning to move to Canada with dual intent while the second stage was being processed. Things have been delayed due to the incredibly long drawn out sale of my house. Next month is our first wedding anniversary and I am thinking of a quick visit to spend a few days with my spouse and boost both our spirits. I'm sorry if this question has already been asked and answered before. Will it be alright for me to go for a visit while my PR is in process? Will I have to take documents? I will be going for a week as I don't have any more holidays left for this year.

thanks in advance for any advice.

I would suggest having confirmation that you are on leave and are expected to return on a specific date, just in case you are pulled to secondary as you have a PR application in place.
