visa expiring soon.....new visa being processed......qhat happens in between?
hi there...
i am currnetly working in canada on a 1 year bunac visa, this visa expires in 5 weeks. i am applying for a new work visa, hrsdc recently called my boss and told him they are going to approve the job offer but we have had no hrsdc file number in the post as off yet.
so heres my question....... do i have to leave the country and re enter as a visitor once the bunac visa expires or can i stay until the new visa is either granted or denied?
thanks

You must apply for change of status to visitor and extension of stay before your permit expires. If HRSDC validation arrives in time and application for new work permit (as Bunac cannot be extended) reaches CIC before your current permit expires then you may continue working. providing that it is the same employer as listed on your Bunac work permit.

I was quite clear in my reply - I told you what to do if you won't get HRSDC approval in time (apply for change to visitoe and extension of stay) and what to do if you do get it in time (apply for new work permit).
