I just called CIC. They told me that I am still waiting for backgrounnd check. they
are not expected my background check until the 1st week of March.
However, three weeks ago, when i called. CIC told me to wait. They askked me ddon't
apply to extend my visa first. My visa is gonna expired in March
I applied as a spouse in within on July 17th 2001 I receive my AIP in October 9 2001.
My nationality is Malaysian..
why it took so long to process my background check....

Hi:
Since you have applied for spousal sponsorship within Canada, you are entitled
to apply for a visitor visa extension. You may want to consider submitting
your application for a visitor visa extension approximately 5 weeks before
your visa expires.
Yours truly, Ingrid Y. Chen, B.A., LL.B.
