Vancouver

Hi everyone.

I m thinking of moving to Vancouver and any advice would be great. I m a qualified soccer coach and would like to know if I could find this kind of work there.

Thanks

Like virtually every other job you will need to Canadianize your qualification. Start at http://www.bcsoccer.net/bcsa/HOME/ta...2/Default.aspx and follow the links: soccer - coaches - certificate exemptions.

Thanks JonboyE. I will look into it. I played a bit of pro in Scotland and College Soccer in the USA. I also speak French as I live in Paris, so maybe another option would be to try Quebec.

Thanks again for the link.

Cheers

So long as you were not planning on making a living doing it. Not sure you'd get a visa on this either.

There are lots of people here already doing it. I expect for high school you'd need to have a teaching certificate. For professional you would need to talk to clubs and find out if there is a need. It's not a case of proving you've got something they don't already have if they don't need it. You might want to do a lot more research with BC soccer and the clubs. Personally I would be looking at other ways of getting in and doing this as a hobby.
