Default Is Valid I-94 still good for coming back into U.S. ?

I have an E-2 visa valid until May 2005, and my I-94 is valid until March 2005. I need to make a trip to Canada next week where I have Permanent Resident status. Does anyone know if my visa and my I-94 will be sufficient to come back in? Will I have to surrender my I-94 upon leaving the U.S. and get another one when I come back in, or will I simply have to hang on to the same I-94 and show that on the way back?

Thanks for your help.
