Using an immigration consultant at this stage...
Hi there,
We submitted our paperwork back in March '06. At that time I did the application myself for a skilled worker visa and although it was fairly straight-forward. It took a long time to complete...
Every now and again, I have a look at what was submitted (it’s all PDF’d on my PC) and wonder if there was enough detail – particularly as I am an IT consultant with my own business so I supplied contracts for consultancy + CV rather than the employment details that the application requested.
So my questions are:
Is it too late to get a consultant to look at what was submitted?
And if we find something that should be amended can this be done easily (give that we haven't heard anything from CIC since May 06)?
Or should I just stop looking at it and wait to hear from CIC
Many thanks,
James.

Hi James
I would think that once it was your turn to have your application assessed then the case officer would ask you for any more evidence required for the application.
I think it would be prudent to hang fire until CIC get in touch with you and then assess whether you would need to enlist a specialist in immigration.

Thanks Guys,
That all makes sense.
I just hope that CIC contact us soon. We can't wait to get settled in Canada.
We're looking at settling on Bowen Island - have been out there a number of times and we just love it!
Many thanks for your help.
James.
