Default US Student immigrating to Canada

Currently I am persuing my masters degree in USA. If my immigration is processed than I will not be able to come to Canada immediatly. Is there any way that I can defer my entry into Canada?
Or is there any such option that I enter Canada for a short period say 1 week and file for PR and return to US. Any help is appreciated.

What are you talking about? Unless I misunderstood the original post the OP wants to apply for PR and is located in US. It's perfectly fine to apply for Canadian PR from the US. Maybe the OP can re-word his first post if I'm missing something...
